Portsmouth City Council (Little Hambrook Street) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Loading and Waiting and Footpath Closure) (No.71) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.

The Order comes into operation from 3rd March 2023 and the effect will be as follows:-

A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, LOADING AND WAITING AND FOOTPATH CLOSURE

LITTLE HAMBROOK STREET
From the junction of Hambrook Street to the junction of Copper Street.

COPPER STREET
From east its junction with Little Hambrook Street to north of its junction with Stone Street Footpath Side Of 1-5 Leading to Little Southsea Street.

HAMBROOK STREET
Footpath closed from Little Hambrook Street for 30m.

2 parking bays suspended outside 40/42.

HAMBROOK STREET
From its junction with Nickel Street to Cecil Place.

Duration: One day only for crane works as notified by the placement of signs and letters to residents two weeks in advance.

B) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING

STONE STREET
10 metres opposite Gold Street.

COPPER STREET (SOUTH SIDE)
For 15m alongside the Brewery House (3 no. parking spaces).

LITTLE HAMBROOK STREET
From the junction of Hambrook Street to the junction of Copper Street.

HAMBROOK STREET
From its junction with Nickel Street to Cecil Place.

Duration: One day only for crane works as notified by the placement of signs and letters to residents two weeks in advance.

C) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING

HAMBROOK STREET
30 metres north from its junction with Little Hambrook Street.

D) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate demolition and redevelopment works.

E) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 3rd March 2023 to 31st May 2023 for 3 months or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

F) DIVERSION
Vehicles diverted from Hambrook Street – Nickel Street – Copper Street and Stone Street – Gold Street – Copper Street.
Pedestrians to follow diversion.
Notwithstanding the above, vehicles will be diverted for crane works for one day only (as notified by the placement of signs and letters to residents two weeks in advance) as follows:
Hambrook Street – Castle Road – Great Southsea Street – Kings Road – Kings Road Roundabout – King’s Terrace – Jubilee Terrace – Hambrook Street and Hambrook Street – Jubilee Terrace – King’s Terrace – Kings Road Roundabout – Kings Road – Castle Road – Hambrook Street.
