Portsmouth City Council (Dorothy Dymond Street) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Loading and Waiting) (Temporary Footpath Closure) (No.149) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport has given a direction under section 15(3) and (5) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 for the above Order to be continuing in force for a further four months.

The Order came into operation from 30th May 2023 and the effect is as follows:-

A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, LOADING AND WAITING

DOROTHY DYMOND STREET
From Alec Rose Lane Road to Salem Path (Except South-west side, a 24m length alongside Guildhall Walk car park for disabled badge holders only.)

B) TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE

SALEM PATH
In its entirety.

C) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate construction works to Hippodrome House.

D) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 30th May 2023 to 12th December 2023 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
The footpath closure Salem Path has been extended under Section 15 (5) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, for a further four months from 1st December 2023 until 31st March 2024.
The road closure on Dorothy Dymond Street has been extended under Section 15 (3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, for a further four months from 13th December 2023 until 31st March 2024.

E) DIVERSION
No vehicle diversion – dead end. Delivery access will be maintained.
Pedestrians will be diverted from Alec Rose Lane – Guildhall Walk or Alec Rose Lane – Guildhall Square Steps – Pedestrian Area At Upper Level Guildhall Square.
