Portsmouth City Council (Clarendon Road) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Loading and Waiting) (No.3) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 9th January 2023 and the effect will be as follows:-
A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING (DISABLED BAY)
At its junction with Palmerston Road (Precinct) for 5 metres from its northwest corner.
B) TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF NO LOADING AND WAITING FOR DISABLED BADGE HOLDERS ONLY
From 5 metres from its northwest corner with Palmerston Road (Precinct) for 5 metres on the north side.
C) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
From its junction with Palmerston Road to its junction with The Vale.
(For 2 weeks in March or April)
D) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, LOADING AND WAITING
From its junction Palmerston Road to No. 2 Clarendon Road.
(For 3 days in May or June)
E) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate renovation works.
F) DURATION OF THE ORDER
The Order will be in effect from 9th January 2023 to 9th January 2024 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, Section A and B will be in effect for the duration of the Order.
The works in Section C will be in effect for two weeks during March or April as notified by the placement of signs and letters to affected residents and businesses 14 days in advance of works commencing.
The works in Section D will be in effect for 3 days during May or June as notified by the placement of signs and letters to affected residents and businesses 14 days in advance of works commencing.
Vehicles will be diverted:
1. Clarence Parade – South Parade – Burgoyne Road – Clarendon Road and vice versa.
2. Osbourne Road – Portland Road – Kent Road – Grove Road South – Marmion Road – Victoria Road South.
3. Victoria Road South, Richmond Road – Marmion Road – Grove Road South – Kent Road – Portland Road – Osbourne Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained.
