The Portsmouth City Council (Portsmouth Armed Forces Day Parade) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving) (No.181) Order 2023

Portsmouth City Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit vehicular traffic from proceeding in the roads and the lengths of roads set out below on Saturday 17th June 2023.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING

From 10.45 to 11.45, or at the discretion of the Highway Authority or its agents. Roads will reopen when it is deemed safe to do so.

1. CLARENCE ESPLANADE (EASTBOUND)
From its junction with Clarence Pier Road (opposite Hoverport Terminal) to its junction with Avenue de Caen. (Except for access to parking between Clarence Pier Road and Serpentine Way and for eastbound egress between D-Day Car Park and Avenue de Caen under marshal control.)

2. CLARENCE ESPLANADE (WESTBOUND)
From the entrance to the D-Day Car Park to its junction with Serpentine Way.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING (ROLLING CLOSURE)

From 10.45 to 11.45, or at the discretion of the Highway Authority or its agents. Roads will reopen when it is deemed safe to do so.

1. CLARENCE ESPLANADE (WESTBOUND)
From the entrance to the D-Day Car Park to its junction with Serpentine Way.

REASON FOR THE ORDER
The above restrictions are necessary for the safe passage of the Portsmouth Armed Forces Day Parade.

DIVERSION
Avenue de Caen – Clarence
Roads will be re-opened when considered safe to do so.
