Portsmouth City Council (St George’s Road) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Loading and Waiting) (No.129) Order 2022

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.

The Order comes into operation from 19th July 2022 and the effect will be as follows:-

A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, LOADING AND WAITING

ST GEORGE’S ROAD
For 25 metres either side of the railway bridge.

B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate bridge examination works.

C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 19th July 2022 to 20th July 2022 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place between 21:00 and 05:00 for one night.

D) DIVERSION
Vehicles diverted from St George’s Road – B2154 The Hard – Queen Street – Alfred Road – Marketway – A3 – A2030 – Cornmill Street – Lake Road – Holbrook Road – Winston Churchill Avenue – A3 – Cambridge Road – St Georges Road – and vice versa.
Pedestrian and cycle access will be maintained on the opposite footway (marshalled).
