The Portsmouth City Council (Seafarers Service) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving) (No.178) Order 2022
Portsmouth City Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit vehicular traffic from proceeding in the roads and the lengths of roads set out below on Sunday 2nd October 2022.
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING (ROLLING CLOSURE)
From 11:00 to 12:45, or at the discretion of the Chief Constable of Hampshire Constabulary. Roads will reopen when it is deemed safe to do so.
From 11:00 to 11:25:
1. ST THOMAS’S STREET
From its junction with Lombard Street to its junction with Oyster Street.
2. OYSTER STREET
From its junction with St Thomas’s Street to its junction with High Street.
From 12:00 to 12:15:
4. OYSTER STREET
From its junction with St Thomas’s Street to its junction with High Street.
5. HIGH STREET
From its junction with Oyster Street to its junction with Grand Parade.
From 12:00 to 12:45:
6. GRAND PARADE
From its junction with High Street to its junction with Penny Street.
7. PENNY STREET
From its junction with Grand Parade to 50 metres east
From 12:30 to 12:45:
8. HIGH STREET
From its junction with Grand Parade to its junction with Oyster Street.
9. OYSTER STREET
From its junction with High Street to its junction with St Thomas’s Street.
REASON FOR THE ORDER
The above restrictions are necessary for the safe passage of the Seafarers Service parade.
DIVERSION
A rolling road closure will be in place. Traffic will follow the parade and roads will be re-opened when considered safe to do so.
