Portsmouth City Council (Lake Road) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Loading and Waiting) (No.16) Order 2022

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.

The Order comes into operation from 31st January 2022 and the effect will be as follows:-

A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, LOADING AND WAITING

LAKE ROAD (EASTBOUND)
From its junction with Cornmill Street Roundabout to its junction with Lake Road Roundabout.

LAKE ROAD (WESTBOUND)
From its junction with Lake Road Roundabout to its junction with Clarendon Street.

B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate survey works.

C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 31st January 2022 to 9th February 2022 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner, plus one night’s contingency from 10th February 2022 if works are postponed due to adverse weather. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place between 21:00 to 05:00 on each night and only one closure will be in force at any one time:
Lake Road (Cornmill Street to Church Street): 31st January to 4th February 2022
Lake Road (Church Street to Clarendon Street): 8th February to 9th February 2022

D) DIVERSION
Vehicle diversions:
Lake Road (Cornmill Street to Church Street):
A3 Market Way – A3 Alfred Road – A3 Anglesea Road – A2030 Winston Churchill Avenue – A2030 Holbrook Road.
Lake Road (Church Street to Clarendon Street):
A2030 Holbrook Road – Victoria Road North – A2047 Fratton Road – B2152 Lake Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained. Cyclists to dismount or follow local diversions.
