Portsmouth City Council (Fratton Big Local – Festival of Light Parade) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Loading and Waiting) (No.200) Order 2022
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic Regulation (Special Events) Act 1994.
The Order comes into operation from Friday 18th November 2022 and the effect will be as follows:-
A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, LOADING AND WAITING
VIVASH ROAD
From its junction with Somers Road North to its junction with Lucknow Street.
LUCKNOW STREET
From its junction with Fratton Road to its junction with Vivash Road.
B) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING
BERKSHIRE CLOSE
At its junction with Vivash Road.
SOMERS ROAD NORTH
At its junction with Fratton Road.
GARNIER STREET
At its junction with Fratton Road.
ARUNDEL STREET
At its junction with Fratton Road.
STAMFORD STREET
At its junction with Fratton Road.
FRATTON ROAD
At its junction with Alver Road.
C) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate the Fratton Big Local – Festival of Light Parade.
D) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 15:00 to 19:00 on Friday 18th November 2022 or completion of the event, whichever is sooner.
Notwithstanding the above, the parade will form up between 15:00 to 18:00 and the parade will take place on the footways from Vivash Road – Somers Road North – Fratton Road – St Marys Church between 18:00 to 19:00 with delays of up to 30 minutes between any two junctions.
E) DIVERSION
Traffic will be held up at the junctions while the parade passes with delays of up to 30 minutes at each junction.
Pedestrian access will be maintained.
