Portsmouth City Council (Baffins Road) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Loading and Waiting and Temporary Suspension of Bus Lane Restrictions) (No.29) Order 2022

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.

The Order comes into operation from 21st February 2022 and the effect will be as follows:-

A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING

BAFFINS ROAD
Phase 1: From outside No. 1 to the junction of St Marys Road roundabout.

Cycle lane closed outside Nos. 2-32 and 1-15.

Phase 2: At the junction of St Marys Road RAB Bus and Cycle Lane closed.

B) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING

BAFFINS ROAD
Outside Nos. 2-32 and 1-15.

Bus Stop closed outside No. 2.

C) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate works to install a raised table and new crossing points for pedestrians (Section 278 works – Kingston Prison).

D) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 21st February 2022 for 2 weeks or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Phase 1 and Phase 2 will take place as indicated by signage.
Notwithstanding the above, works will take place between 07:30 – 21:30.
Notwithstanding the above, the Order will cease to have effect from 23:59 on 4th March 2022.

E) DIVERSION
Vehicles diverted:
Phase 1 – All traffic diverted to use bus lane (Cycle Lane closed – Cyclists advised to dismount and use footway).
Phase 2 – Bus lane and cycle closed. (Cycle Lane closed – Cyclists advised to dismount and use footway).
Pedestrian access will be maintained.
