Portsmouth City Council (St George’s Road – Vernon Bridge) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Loading and Waiting) (No.17) Order 2021
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 8th February 2021 and the effect will be as follows:-
A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, LOADING AND WAITING
ST GEORGE’S ROAD
From its junction with Park Road to its junction with St George’s Square.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate bridge maintenance works – pigeon proofing installation.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 8th February 2021 for 7 nights or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place between 22:00 to 06:00.
The order will continue to be in force for eighteen months if works are postponed due to reasons connected to coronavirus. Rescheduled dates will be notified by the placement of signs and letters to residents and businesses.
D) DIVERSION
Northbound vehicles diverted from St Georges Road – Cambridge Road – St Michaels Road – Market Way A3 – Anglesea Road A3 – Queen Street – The Hard – B2154.
Southbound vehicles diverted from The Hard B2154 – Queen Street – Alfred Road – Market Way A3 – Alfred Road – Anglesea Road – King Richard I Road – Lord Montgomery Way – Hampshire Terrace – St Michaels Road – Cambridge Road – St Georges Road.
Pedestrians will be diverted across Park Road – underpass – The Hard and vice versa.
Cyclists to dismount and follow pedestrian diversion.
