Portsmouth City Council (Lake Road) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Loading and Waiting) (No.136) Order 2021

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.

The Order comes into operation from 22nd November 2021 and the effect will be as follows:-

A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, LOADING AND WAITING

LAKE ROAD (EASTBOUND)
From its junction with Cornmill Street Roundabout to its junction with Lake Road Roundabout.

From its junction with Lake Road Roundabout to its junction with Clarendon Street.

CHURCH STREET
From its junction with Cornwallis Crescent to its junction with Lake Road Roundabout.

B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate survey works.

C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 22nd November 2021 for 12 nights or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place between 20:00 to 06:00 on each night and only one closure will be in force at any one time:
Lake Road (Cornmill Street to Church Street): 22nd to 28th November 2021
Church Street (Cornwallis Crescent to Lake Road): 29th and 30th November 2021
Lake Road (Church Street to Clarendon Street): 1st to 3rd December 2021

D) DIVERSION
Vehicle diversions:
Lake Road (Cornmill Street to Church Street) – 22nd to 28th November 2021:
A3 Market Way – A3 Alfred Road – A3 Anglesea Road – A2030 Winston Churchill Avenue – A2030 Holbrook Road.
Church Street (Cornwallis Crescent to Lake Road) – 29th and 30th November 2021:
Church Street – A3 Commercial Road – Cornmill Street – A2030 Lake Road and vice versa.
Lake Road (Church Street to Clarendon Street) – 1st to 3rd December 2021:
A2030 Holbrook Road – Victoria Road North – A2047 Fratton Road – B2152 Lake Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained. Cyclists to dismount or follow local diversions.
