Portsmouth City Council (Hewett Road and Kensington Road) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Loading and Waiting) (No.133) Order 2021

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.

The Order comes into operation from 15th November 2021 and the effect will be as follows:-

A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING (SEE SECTION D)

KENSINGTON ROAD
Outside and opposite numbers 98 – 102.

B) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING

HEWETT ROAD
Outside and opposite numbers 81 – 87 (opposite site entrance into Mayfield School).

Outside and opposite numbers 133 – 137.

KENSINGTON ROAD
Outside and opposite numbers 98 – 102.

C) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate access to demolition works of former Mayfield School.

D) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 15th November 2021 for 10 months or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place between 08:00 to 18:00 for periodic suspensions throughout the above time period to allow for large plant deliveries. Dates and times will be notified in advance by the placement of signs and letters to affected residents and businesses.

SECTION A DURATION: Notwithstanding the above, the closure on Kensington Road will take place over one hour to allow crane access to the site, plus one hour to allow the crane to leave the site. Dates and times will be notified in advance by the placement of signs and letters to affected residents and businesses.

E) DIVERSION
No vehicle diversion.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
