Portsmouth City Council (Henderson Road and Cromwell Road) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Loading and Waiting) (No.117) Order 2021

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.

The Order comes into operation from 18th October 2021 and the effect will be as follows:-

A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, LOADING AND WAITING

CROMWELL ROAD (SOUTHBOUND)
From its junction with Highland Road to its junction with Eastney Street.

B) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING

HENDERSON ROAD
From its junction with Cromwell Road to its junction with Fort Cumberland Road (eastbound carriageway).

From its junction with Bransbury Road to its junction with Henderson Road Access Roads at Henderson Mobile Home Park (northbound carriageway).

C) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate City Fibre works.

D) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 18th October 2021 for 10 weeks or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, traffic management will be in place 24/7 and works will take place on Cromwell Road for 3 weeks from 25th October 2021 to 12th November between 9:30 and 15:30 Monday to Friday, and on Henderson Road for 10 weeks from 18th October 2021 to 23rd December 2021 between 07:30 to 18:00.

E) DIVERSION
Cromwell Road (closed southbound):
Vehicles diverted: Highland Road – Festing Road – Eastern Parade – St George’s Road – Cromwell Road. Cyclists to follow local diversions.
Pedestrian access will be maintained.
