Portsmouth City Council (Glasgow Road) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Loading and Waiting) (No.26) Order 2021

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.

The Order comes into operation from 15th February 2021 and the effect will be as follows:-

A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING

GLASGOW ROAD
Westbound from its junction with Tranmere Road. (Eastbound access from Eastney Road permitted).

B) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING

GLASGOW ROAD
From its junction with Eastney Road for 30 metres on both sides.

C) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF RIGHT TURN

TRANMERE ROAD

Into Glasgow Road.

D) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate gas main works.

E) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 15th February 2021 for 2 weeks or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
The order will continue to be in force for eighteen months if works are postponed due to reasons connected to coronavirus. Rescheduled dates will be notified by the placement of signs and letters to residents and businesses.

F) DIVERSION
No right turn from Tranmere Road onto Glasgow Road. Vehicles diverted from Tranmere Road – Kingsley Road.
Entry from Eastney Road onto Glasgow Road will remain open.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
