Portsmouth City Council (Fratton Road) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Loading and Waiting) (No.73) Order 2021
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 28th June 2021 and the effect will be as follows:-
A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, LOADING AND WAITING (EXCEPT FOR ACCESS)
SOMERS ROAD NORTH
From the junction of Fratton Road to the junction of Vivash Road. (No access from 15m west of Fratton Road)
From the junction of Fratton Road to the junction of Nancy Road. (No access from Fratton Road for 30m east)
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate City Fibre works (ducting road crossing).
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 28th June 2021 for 2 weeks or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, traffic on Fratton Road will be managed by two-way signals.
D) DIVERSION FOR ALL TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIANS
Somers Road North: At junction Vivash Road access only for Asda deliveries – Diversion Vivash Road – Lucknow Street – Fratton Road.
Cornwall Road: Nancy Road – Penhale Road – Fratton Road or Cornwall Road – Claremont Road – Selbourne Terrace – Fratton Road.
