Portsmouth City Council (Alfred Road) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Loading and Waiting) (No.21) Order 2021

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.

The Order comes into operation from 15th February 2021 and the effect will be as follows:-

A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, LOADING AND WAITING

ALFRED ROAD

At its junction with Unicorn Road (with associated lane closures as required).

B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate sewer and drain survey works.

C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 15th February 2021 for 2 nights (plus 2 additional nights if required) or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place between 20:00 to 06:00.
The order will continue to be in force for eighteen months if works are postponed due to reasons connected to coronavirus. Rescheduled dates will be notified by the placement of signs and letters to residents and businesses.

D) DIVERSION
Vehicles diverted:
Southbound: (From Unicorn Road westbound) Alfred Road – Anglesea Road – St Michaels Road – King Richard 1st Road – Winston Churchill Avenue – Holbrook Road – Lake Road – Cornmill Street – Commercial Road – Marketway.
Northbound: Marketway – Commercial Road RAB – Cornmill Street – Lake Road – Holbrook Road – Winston Churchill Avenue – Lord Montgomery Way – St Michael’s Road – Anglesea Road – Alfred Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained.
