Portsmouth City Council (Airport Service Road) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Loading and Waiting and Temporary Suspension of 7.5t weight restriction) (No.84) Order 2021
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 26th July 2021 and the effect will be as follows:-
A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, LOADING AND WAITING
AIRPORT SERVICE ROAD
From the junction of Mitchell Way to the junction of Bilton Way.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate construction of road humps and raised zebra crossings in Airport Service Road.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 26th July 2021 for 43 days (6 weeks and one day) or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place in sections. Each works will be notified by the placement of signs and letters to affected residents and businesses.
Vehicles diverted for each section of works by signage:
Diversion 1 – Airport Service Road – Dundas Lane – Quartremaine Road – Airport Service Road
(Works in Airport Service Road between Mitchell Way and Dundas Lane (No through traffic – Access Only to businesses))
Diversion 2 – Airport Service Road – Robinson Way – Anchorage Road (7.5t weight restriction suspended) – Williams Road – Quartremaine Road – Airport Service Road (Works in Airport Service Road between Dundas Lane and Robinson Way)
Diversion 3 – Airport Service Road – Robinson Way – Anchorage Road (7.5t weight restriction suspended) – Eastern Road – Airport Service Road (Works in Airport Service Road between Robinson Way and Bilton Way)
Pedestrian access will be maintained. Notwithstanding, pedestrians will be diverted to the opposite footway when works cannot maintain a minimum of 1.5m for pedestrian access.
