Portsmouth City Council (Unicorn Road) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Loading and Waiting and Suspension of Bus Lane Restriction) (No. 61) Order 2020
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 22nd June 2020 and the effect will be as follows:-
A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, LOADING AND WAITING.
UNICORN ROAD (SOUTHBOUND) From the junction of Marketway to Edinburgh Road.
B) TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF BUS LANE RESTRICTIONS FOR ACCESS TO CATHEDRAL, CASCADES SERVICE AREA, TAXIS AND HGV DELIVERY ACCESS (NO RESTRICTIONS FOR BUS AND CYCLE ACCESS)
UNICORN ROAD (SOUTHBOUND) From the junction of Marketway to Edinburgh Road.
C) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate construction of peripheral works on Bishop Crispian Way for the new Travelodge Hotel.
D) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 22nd June 2020 for 18 months or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Notwithstanding the above, works are expected to take place for approximately 4 weeks.
If works are postponed, rescheduled dates will be notified by the placement of signs and letters to residents and businesses.
E) DIVERSION
Vehicles diverted from Marketway, Alfred Road, Anglesea Road, St Michaels Road, King Richard 1st Street, Winston Churchill Avenue, Holbrook Road, Arundel Street, and Stanhope Road.
Pedestrian and cycle access will be maintained.
