Portsmouth City Council (Slindon Street) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Loading and Waiting) (No.46) Order 2020

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.

The Order comes into operation from 19th April 2020 and the effect will be as follows:-

A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, LOADING AND WAITING

SLINDON STREET – From its junction with Station Street to the entrance to Slindon Street Car Park.

B) TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF ONE WAY

LOWER CHURCH PATH – From its junction with Station Street to Yapton Street.

YAPTON STREET – From its junction with Lower Church Path.

SLINDON STREET – From its junction with Lower Church Path to the entrance to Slindon Street Car Park.

C) REASON FOR THE ORDER

To facilitate crane works.

D) DURATION OF THE ORDER

From 19th April 2020 for 18 months or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works are expected to take place for 1 day from 19th April 2020 between 05:00 to 10:00, or on 26th April 2020 between 05:00 to 10:00 in the event of adverse weather. Notwithstanding the above, the order will be in force for eighteen months if works are postponed. Rescheduled dates will be notified by the placement of signs and letters to residents and businesses.

E) DIVERSION

Vehicles will be diverted to Lower Church Path.

Pedestrians will be diverted to the eastern footway.

Access will be managed by marshals.
