Portsmouth City Council (Kensington Road and Hewett Road) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Loading and Waiting) (No.81) Order 2020
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 1st September 2020 and the effect will be as follows:-
A) TEMPORARY FOOTWAY CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, LOADING AND WAITING
KENSINGTON ROAD – From the junction of Hewett Road to the junction of Mayfield Road with footway closure on western side and footway closure on eastern side for 15m north from Mayfield Road.
HEWETT ROAD – From opposite No.105 to the junction of Kensington Road with footway closure on southern side.
MAYFIELD ROAD – At its junction with Kensington Road. Footway closure on the northern side for 25m east of Kensington Road.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate electricity and fibre connection works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 1st September 2020 for 1 month or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Works will be completed by 2nd October 2020. The order will continue to be in force for eighteen months if works are postponed for reasons connected to coronavirus.
Rescheduled dates will be notified by the placement of signs and letters to residents and businesses.
Notwithstanding the above, works will be carried out in 50m sections at a time, as notified by the placement of signs and letters to affected residents and businesses prior to each works.
Vehicles diverted from Mayfield Road, Copnor Road, Domum Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained on the opposite footway to works.
