THE PORTSMOUTH CITY COUNCIL (HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE AND PUBLIC CLEANSING) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, LOADINGAND WAITING) (NO.54) ORDER 2020
Notice is hereby given that the Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1) and Section 15(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The Order will come into operation on 15 May 2020 and the effect will be as follows:-
A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING
No vehicle shall proceed in any road or length of road in the City of Portsmouth which is, at the time, closed to facilitate highway maintenance or public cleansing works.
B) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING
No vehicle shall wait or stand at any time in any road or length of road in the City of Portsmouth where, at the time, vehicular parking is restricted to facilitate highway maintenance or public cleansing works.
C) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate Highway maintenance and cleansing operations wherever this may be in progress.
D) DURATION OF THE ORDER
The works will be carried out in sections, the lengths and duration of which will be communicated by the placement of on-street signage and letters to residents prior to works taking place for each section of road(s). In accordance with Section 15 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), PCC are satisfied that the execution of the programme of works will take longer than 18 months. Portsmouth City Council shall revoke the order as soon as the works are complete.
E) VEHICLE DIVERSION ROUTE
As notified by the placement of Advance warning signs for each works. A copy of the draft Order may be examined at the Information Desk, Civic Offices, Portsmouth during normal office hours.
