Portsmouth City Council (Goldsmith Avenue) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Loading and Waiting) (No.69) Order 2020

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.

The Order comes into operation from 20th July 2020 and the effect will be as follows:-

A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, LOADING AND WAITING

GOLDSMITH AVENUE – From the junction of Fratton Road for 100 metres (eastbound and westbound carriageways as separate phases).

B) REASON FOR THE ORDER

To facilitate trench crossing works for connection to CCTV.

C) DURATION OF THE ORDER

From 20th July 2020 for 18 months or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Notwithstanding the above, works are expected to take place for 4 nights between 20:00 to 06:30. The order will continue to be in force for eighteen months if works are postponed. Rescheduled dates will be notified by the placement of signs and letters to residents and businesses.

D) DIVERSION

Vehicles diverted from Goldsmith Avenue:

Westbound: From Fratton Way, Rodney Road, Milton Road, St Mary’s Road, Fratton Road

Eastbound: Fratton Road, St Mary’s Road, Milton Road, Goldsmith Avenue.

Pedestrian access will be maintained.

A copy of the Order may be examined at the Information Desk, Ground Floor, Civic Offices, Portsmouth, during normal office hours.
