Portsmouth City Council (Elm Grove – Kings Road) (Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.111) Order 2020

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.

The Order comes into operation from 16th November 2020 and the effect will be as follows:-

A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING

Elm Grove and Kings Road

From the junction of Landport Terrace to the junction of Victoria Road North.

B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate a temporary cycle lane trial on both sides of the road, providing additional protected space for cyclists.

C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 16th November 2020 for 8 weeks or completion of the trial, whichever is sooner.
The order will continue to be in force for eighteen months if works are postponed due to reasons connected to coronavirus. Rescheduled dates will be notified by the placement of signs and letters to residents and businesses.

D) EXCEPTIONS – LOADING ONLY
Loading only will be permitted at the following locations:

KINGS ROAD
No Waiting At Any Time on northern side, from eastern end of the bus stop to the east of Green Road, for 15m.

ELM GROVE No Waiting At Any Time on southern side, outside no.24 Elm Grove for 10m.
ELM GROVE No Waiting At Any Time on southern side, from eastern end of bus stop outside no. 92 to junction with The Thicket.

ELM GROVE No Waiting At Any Time on northern side, outside nos. 97 and 99 to the east of the pedestrian crossing for 10m.

ELM GROVE No Waiting At Any Time on southern side outside no. 142 and 144 for 10m up to the western end of the existing loading bay.
