Portsmouth City Council (Cow Lane) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Loading and Waiting) (No.114) Order 2020

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.

The Order comes into operation from 4th December 2020 and the effect will be as follows:-

A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING AND FOOTPATH CLOSURE

COW LANE
In its entirety.

BRIGHSTONE PATH
From its junction with Cow Lane to its junction with access tunnel to King George V Playing Fields.

B) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING

COW LANE
In its entirety.

NORTHARBOUR ROAD
North and South sides 40 metres East and West of its junction with Cow Lane.

C) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate works to replace Railway Bridge.

D) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 4th December 2020 for 15 weeks or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Notwithstanding the above, the order will continue to be in force for eighteen months (6 months for Brighstone Path) if works are postponed due to reasons connected to coronavirus. Rescheduled dates will be notified by the placement of signs and letters to residents and businesses.

E) DIVERSION
Vehicles diverted from Northarbour Road – Western Road – Portsbridge RAB- Northern Road – Medina Road and vice versa. Access only to Lower Farm Road.
No footway under the bridge.
