Portsmouth City Council (Clement Attlee Way) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Loading and Waiting) (No.115) Order 2020

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.

The Order comes into operation from 6th December 2020 and the effect will be as follows:-

A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF RIGHT TURN

CLEMENT ATTLEE WAY
Eastbound at its junction with Southampton Road.

B) TEMPORARY FOOTWAY CLOSURE

SOUTHAMPTON ROAD
Westbound from pedestrian crossing to Racecourse Lane to its junction with Clement Attlee Way.

C) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate underground cabling for Openreach works.

D) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 6th December 2020 for 1 night or completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Notwithstanding the above, works will take place between 21:00 to 06:00.
Notwithstanding the above, the order will continue to be in force for eighteen months if works are postponed due to reasons connected to coronavirus. Rescheduled dates will be notified by the placement of signs and letters to residents and businesses.

E) DIVERSION
Vehicles diverted to Southampton Road westbound – Portway- Port way RAB – Southampton Road – Eastbound (Lane 1 closure on Southampton Road Westbound).
Pedestrian and cycle access will be maintained on the northern side of Southampton Road.
