Portsmouth City Council (Canal Walk) (Temporary No Through Road) (No.84) Order 2020
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 1st September 2020 and the effect will be as follows:-
A) TEMPORARY NO THROUGH ROAD
CANAL WALK – From its junction with Bridgeside Close to Sydenham Terrace.
SOMERS ROAD – From Sydenham Terrace for 42 metres south.
B) TEMPORARY NO THROUGH ROAD (ACCESS ONLY FROM SOMERS ROAD)
SOMERS ROAD – From 42 metres south of Sydenham Terrace to its junction with Raglan Street.
C) REASON FOR THE ORDER
For purposes connected to coronavirus.
D) DURATION OF THE ORDER
The order will continue to be in force for a maximum of eighteen months from 1st September 2020. Notwithstanding the above, it is anticipated that the closure will be in place until 30 April 2021.
E) DIVERSION
No vehicle diversion.
Pedestrian and cycle access will be maintained.
