Portsmouth City Council (Canal Walk) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Loading and Waiting) (No.26) Order 2020
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 24th February 2020 and the effect will be as follows:-
A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, LOADING AND WAITING
SOMERS ROAD – Northbound from its junction with Raglan
Street.
CANAL WALK – Closed westbound from its junction with
Somers Road.
B) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF RIGHT TURN
BRIDGESIDE CLOSE – No right turn into Canal Walk.
MILFORD ROAD – No right turn into Canal Walk.
C) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate Network Rail retaining wall repair works.
D) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 24th February 2020 for 15 months, or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Notwithstanding the above, works are expected to be completed within 6 weeks.
E) DIVERSION
Vehicles diverted from Somers Road (from Bridgeside Close), Raglan Street, Greetham Street, Isambard Brunel Road, Commercial Road, Station Street, East Surrey Street, Upper Arundel Street and Canal Walk.
Pedestrian access will be maintained.
