The Portsmouth City Council (Cambridge Road) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Loading and Waiting) (No.23) Order 2020
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 10 February 2020 and the effect will be as follows:-
A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, LOADING AND WAITING
CAMBRIDGE ROAD From the junction of Burnaby Road to the junction of St Michael’s Road.
ST MICHAEL’S ROAD For 40 metres north from its junction with Cambridge Road.
B) REASON FOR THE ORDER
The Order is required to facilitate SSE ducting works.
C) DURATION OF THE ORDER
The Order will be in operation for a period from 10th February 2020 to 21st February 2020 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Notwithstanding the above it is anticipated that works will take place between 19:30 to 06:00 over two nights. The Cambridge Road closure will take place on 10th February 2020, and the St Michael’s Road closure on 11th February 2020 within this period. If works are delayed due to adverse weather, alternative dates for each works will be notified by the placement of signs and letters to affected residents and businesses prior to works starting.
D) DIVERSION
Cambridge Road closure:
Vehicles diverted from Cambridge Road, Museum Road, Landport Terrace, Hampshire Terrace to St Michael’s Road.
St Michael’s Road closure:
Vehicles diverted from Cambridge Road, Museum Road, Cambridge Road roundabout to St Michael’s Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained.
A copy of the Temporary Order may be examined at the Information Desk, Ground Floor, Civic Offices, Portsmouth during normal office hours.
