Adoptions in Portsmouth are now managed by Adopt South. You can talk to them if you want to know more about adopting children from the UK or overseas. They welcome enquiries from married, unmarried or single people from all walks of life, and make a clear commitment not to discriminate unfairly on the grounds of age, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, sexuality or class.
Adopting a child is a life-changing decision, but Adopt South are there to support you at every stage.

Have you already adopted with us?
If you’ve already adopted with Portsmouth City Council’s adoption centre, you will need to contact Adopt South, the partnership regional adoption agency for Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton councils.
Adopt South are committed to supporting families post-adoption, including adoption information exchange (e.g. letterbox scheme), where adoptive parents and birth families keep in touch for the benefit of children who have been adopted.
