See what the plans look like on ECD Architect’s website.
Whilst plans may still develop, the proposal is to build 237 new affordable homes at The Warren in Leigh Park. The project would be split into multiple phases to reduce strain on the community.
150 homes would be built within the Cabbagefield Row site. The remaining 87 between existing houses, blocks and flats (Strouden Court, Linford Court, Retail Precinct, Dummer Court, and Conford Court).
Priorities for the new housing
We’re looking to build all 237 homes to Passivhaus standards to provide very energy efficient homes with very low heating bills. One of the council’s latest housing developments, Patey Court, is built to Passivhaus standards and is currently its most energy efficient building to date.
As well as promising improved site security, the plans focus on improving biodiversity for the area.
New landscaped areas, hedgerows and planting throughout would create new habitats for native species of bats, birds and hedgehogs.
When and if the plans change or progress, we’ll keep everyone updated.
