  • if you have purchased a property (regardless of whether you have moved into it)
  • If you have sold a property.
  • If you have moved into Portsmouth (whether you own or rent the property)
  • If you have moved out of Portsmouth (whether you own or rent the property)
  • If you have moved from one property to another property within Portsmouth. (whether you own or rent the property)
  • If you own a property and have moved out and the property is empty.
  • If you are landlord and tenants have moved in or out of the property.

Additional advice for tenants

You will be liable for the council tax charge for the duration of your tenancy agreement regardless of whether you are resident, unless your landlord agrees to end your tenancy at an earlier date.
