Election of a Police and Crime Commissioner for the Hampshire Police Area

  1. An Election is to be held for a Police and Crime Commissioner for the Hampshire Police Area.
  2. Nomination papers can be obtained from the office of the Police Area Returning Officer at the Civic Centre, Southampton, SO14 7LY, who will upon request prepare a nomination paper for signature.
  3. Nomination papers must be delivered in person by appointment only to the Police Area Returning Officer at the Civic Centre, Southampton, SO14 7LY, on any day after the date of this notice from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9 am and 4 pm (excluding bank holidays), but no later than 4 pm on Thursday 8 April 2021.   4. During the period for the delivery of nomination papers the sum of £5,000 must be deposited with the Police Area Returning Officer and may be made either by the deposit of any legal tender, by means of a banker’s draft from a drawer which carries on business as a banker in the United Kingdom and made payable to Southampton Council Elections, or by the electronic transfer of funds. Funds must be cleared before the nomination is considered valid.
  5. If the election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday 6 May 2021.
  6. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the Election Services Office, Civic Offices, Guildhall Square, Portsmouth, PO1 2QR, by midnight on Monday 19 April 2021.
  7. New applications for postal votes, or amendments or cancellations of existing postal and proxy votes, must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the Election Services Office, Civic Offices, Guildhall Square, Portsmouth, PO1 2QR, by 5 pm on Tuesday 20 April 2021.
  8. New applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the Election Services Office, Civic Offices, Guildhall Square, Portsmouth, PO1 2QR, by 5 pm on Tuesday 27 April 2021.
  9. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the Election Services Office, Civic Offices, Guildhall Square, Portsmouth, PO1 2QR, by 5 pm on Thursday 6 May 2021.
