New national restrictions are in place. Make sure you know what to do to Protect Portsmouth.
As the EU transition period comes to an end on 31 December 2020, there will be new rules in place from 1 January 2021 that may affect your business, personal or family circumstances. You can find out more about how you can prepare for January at gov.uk/transition.
Impact on Portsmouth
As part of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Local Resilience Forum we continue to make preparations to make sure we are ready for the end of the transition period.
For our region the Local Resilience Forum has identified the biggest issues as potential traffic congestion caused by extra checks at the port, and its effect on surrounding communities and roads. Plans have been developed to ensure the smooth running of operations. We are working hard to make sure lorries are processed and directed quickly so roads are kept clear of congestion.
