In 1998, consultants Colliers CRE published a Shopping Study on Portsmouth. In 2004 and 2007 they updated the study, concentrating on the need for additional retail floorspace in Portsmouth up to 2016.
The latest update, published in October 2009 takes full account of recent economic trends and how these have affected the retail sector, including the need for new retail floorspace in the city up to 2026.
