Pension Credit

Around 2,500 eligible households are missing out on Pension Credit, worth an average of £300 a month. This also gives you access to the Winter Fuel Payment and other help with essential costs.

Check what you’re entitled to

You can use a free online entitlement calculator to check if you’re entitled to other help, including help with your rent, Council Tax and care needs. Contact Advice Portsmouth if you need help checking your benefit entitlements.

If you’re a council tenant, you can get advice from your housing officer.

Following changes to the Winter Fuel Payment, this scheme provided one-off payments to over 1,065 older people from lower-income households in Portsmouth.
