The council’s business bus pass scheme gives staff another option for making work-related journeys without incurring any personal cost.

The passes are kept at the Civic Offices, although staff working from other bases can contact the Sustainable Travel team to find out how they can benefit from the scheme.

Using the business bus passes

Passes are to be used for business travel only  and are currently for use on First Bus only.  When travelling, show your pass to the bus driver and you won't need to pay for your work-related journey. All Outlook Users can use a business bus pass.

No advance booking is necessary - although two of the four passes can be pre-booked via Outlook

The passes which can be pre-booked are ‘Bus First 1’ and ‘Bus First 2'. To pre-book, set up a meeting request inviting 'Bus First 1’ or 'Bus First 2' from the Attendees list, close and save and then go to your calendar, open the meeting and then print it off (this serves as your confirmation when collecting the pass). The other two passes - 'Bus First 3' and ‘Bus First 4’ – are available on a first-come first-served basis

Passes are kept at the security office in the underground car park at the civic offices. To collect the business bus pass visit the Security office (taking your print-out if you have pre-booked).

You are responsible for the business bus pass and must return it to the security office at the end of the working day. The security officer must sign it in when you return it

Any loss or damage will be attributed to the last user and your service may be charged
