This page gives you links to information about the D-Day 75 commemorations that will take place on 5-9 June in Portsmouth.
The city will be hosting the UK's national commemorations on Wednesday 5 June. We are proud to pay tribute to the veterans of the Normandy landings, having been at the heart of the events 75 years ago that changed the course of the Second World War. Although the national commemorations are for D-Day veterans and invited guests, the public will be able to watch the events from big screens on Southsea Common. You can also enjoy an RAF flypast and a display by the Red Arrows later in the day. Once the national commemorations have finished, the city will be hosting a whole weekend of D-Day 75 events. If you are coming to the events, check out travel information and the event guide.
Portsmouth will be open for business as usual too. If you live in the city, there's local community information, which includes advice on getting around and any restrictions. If you are a resident and you want more information, you can also call our helpline on 023 9268 8020.
