Children are at the ♥heart♥ of what we do here at Milton Park Primary School. We are a mainstream primary school in Portsmouth which also has a wonderful Inclusion Centre for 14 children with social communication difficulties (namely Autism). We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible support staff to join a caring and supportive team. Staff are always keen to go the extra mile for the children of our lovely school to support them with all aspects of day to day learning, and including any specific learning needs.
It would be desirable for the successful candidate have previous experience of working with SEND pupils and have a strong desire of getting involved in every aspect of the school. Experience with children and young adults that have autism at varying levels on the spectrum would also be an advantage. In order to enable our pupils to make the very best educational progress, they need support from staff who have sensitivity, resilience and understanding of their needs.
We are looking for professional individuals who are dedicated to working with children, with special education needs and some with some challenging behaviour, in our Inclusion Centre. Qualifications and experience are desirable but not essential; we will consider strong individuals who have worked in an educational environment and are able and willing to learn quickly ‘on the job’.
The successful candidate will benefit from high-quality, ongoing professional development and the shared expertise of our committed and talented team of staff.
