Your New Role
We are looking for a Legal Assistant to assist the Principal Solicitor (Contracts) by drafting a range of legal documents related to procurement, contracts, commercial and local government law.
You will be working closely with a range of departments across the council. You will provide quality advice and support to departments of the Council as allocated to you by the Principal Solicitor (Contracts).
As your role develops you will have your own case load consisting of contract, procurement and other non-contentious matters in accordance with the demands of the Service.
What you'll need to succeed
Experience working in a legal team, either in-house, private or public sector with a good working knowledge of contract law. Together with experience of preparing legal documentation in respect of routine / non-complex cases using precedent documentation and assisting as part of a project team as required.
Have a working knowledge & ability with regard to Microsoft packages and experience in using a legal case management system and be able to promote and maintain effective working practices, such as compliance with LEXCEL practice accreditation
