We are looking for an experienced Building Surveyor to join our Property Projects team with good building surveying knowledge and relevant building surveying experience.  You need to have a degree level qualification in a relevant building surveying or construction related subject and be a fully qualified RICS Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS).

Candidates must be enthusiastic and good communicators with relevant experience of designing, preparing and managing a range of planned refurbishment projects and well as providing a range of professional building surveying services and advice.

You will be based at one of our Area Housing Offices working as part of the Property Projects team.

You will support the Property Projects Manager leading a team responsible for undertaking refurbishment schemes and providing professional building surveying services and advice for a range of clients. Carrying out a wide range of surveying duties across our varied asset portfolio consisting of 15,000 housing stock together with a range of corporate, operational, commercial and community assets supporting us to maintain and improve our properties, ensure the right repair at the right time and help us provide suitable homes when needed.

The individual projects you will lead will be complex or high profile and involve a varied team of professionals, contract values will typically range from £250,000 to £3,000,000 and occasionally higher.

Candidates will also have a good knowledge of the RICS APC process and act as Supervisor to a number of Apprentice, Trainee or Graduate Building Surveyors. This will involve assisting them with undertaking surveys, report and specification writing, attending site meetings and assisting them with their development through the APC process acting as a professional role model.
