Are you a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive, looking to develop your career?

Would you welcome a fresh challenge?

Gosport is an excellent place to live and work, situated on Hampshire’s South Coast on the western side of Portsmouth Harbour.  We are a busy district council, facing exciting challenges associated with the regeneration of the town and waterfront sites, and can offer an ideal career opportunity in our Legal Team.

We are seeking a qualified lawyer for the role of: SENIOR LAWYER (LITIGATION)

Your role will be to provide legal advice, with particular emphasis on housing, criminal and licensing matters.  You will prepare and present contentious cases in the Magistrates, County and High Courts, public enquiries and tribunals.

It is important that you have good presentation skills coupled with experience of advocacy, knowledge of criminal and civil procedures and of housing law.  You will also act as Deputy Monitoring Officer providing valuable support to the Monitoring Officer and advising on governance and constitutional issues.

If you would like to have an informal chat about the post, please contact Paul Grant, Monitoring Officer, on 023 9254 5611.

You will need to demonstrate transferable skills from your current or previous employment against each of the points described in the Person Specification.

Please do not send a C.V.
