An opportunity has arisen to join our busy diverse Streetscene Team as an Enforcement Officer, working 37 hours per week on a rota which includes weekend working The Streetscene Enforcement Team is committed to providing an efficient enforcement service for the benefit of all Gosport residents 

You will be required to assume responsibility for a geographical area and report directly to the Enforcement Manager

Your duties will involve a variety of enforcement activities which include, the issue of Parking Charge Notices and Fixed Penalty Notices, investigation of environmental crimes, collation of evidence, car parking machine maintenance, car park inspections, traveller welfare and abandoned vehicle enforcement.  Including inspections and assessments of Council assets.

You must have experience of enforcement work, and have a strong knowledge of the criminal justice regulatory framework and associated legislation. You should be an effective team player but also able to work on your own initiative. You should be customer focused and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills as the role will involve confrontational situations.  You must be able to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurately spoken English.

You will need to be computer literate and have good report writing skills.

You must hold a full current driving licence and will drive a council vehicle. The post will involve working outdoors in all weathers.

You will need to demonstrate transferable skills from your current or previous employment against each of the points described in the Person Specification.
