Family Tenancy Support Worker

Location - Portsmouth, Hampshire

Salary - £21,517 for full time and pro rata for part time (NB: The full time working week is 39 hours) 

Job type/hours - permanet, fixed term, various hours.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for three Family Tenancy Support Workers to provide a flexible and responsive crisis intervention and prevention service to vulnerable people with support needs who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

Details of the posts available

29.5 hours per week ~ worker over 5 days this is a Permanent position

39 hours per week ~ worked over 5 days thispost is Fixed Term until 31st July 2019

23.5 hours per week ~ worked over 4 days thispost is Fixed Term until 31st July 2019

Area: The service is based in central Portsmouth and support is delivered in Portsmouth and Havant

The Family Tenancy Support Service adopts a client centred approach in offering practical advice and support to vulnerable families and single adults in addressing issues which may put them at risk of homelessness. As a Family Tenancy Support Worker you will need to have excellent communication skills and experience of working with vulnerable individuals and/or families. 

You will work with the client group at their home and within the community to creatively develop action plans and support clients in the following areas; money and debt management, home management, parenting, family relationships and neighbourly relations. Support provided will enable clients to develop the skills necessary in order to manage their tenancies or privately owned homes independently and reduce incidences of homelessness.

You will need a car with motor insurance cover for business purposes.

Successful applicant will be required to provide an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Disclosure (DBS) disclosure. Disclosure expense will be met by The Roberts Centre.
