Coronavirus: council service information and advice

Information about changes to council services as a result of coronavirus

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and Portsmouth City Council will be hosting an Armed Forces Day event on Saturday 29th June, welcoming veterans of all ages as well as active servicemen and women. The official Armed Forces Day in Portsmouth is a chance for visitors to meet servicemen and women who have served on behalf of us.

The site will be a hive of activity with arena displays showcasing our armed forces and cadets organisations and military and veteran Parades. Also including a rifle display by the Royal Marine Cadets, a performance by the Rose and Thistle Pipe Band, The Royal Marines School of Music and The Military Wives Choir.

Come and see interactive displays, stands and activities for all the family. Jump inside a Harrier cockpit or visit the National Museum of the Royal Navy galleries opposite HMS Victory which will be free and open to all. More importantly there will be a chance to speak to veterans, hear their stories and reminisce about days gone by at our veteran’s corner.

The entertainment continues into the afternoon with Michael Bublé tribute act, Tony Tyler and Abba Stars UK singing a series of fan favourite hits.

Free entry to the site. However, additional ticket required to access other attractions. The National Museum of the Royal Navy Portsmouth galleries will be open free of charge.
