Portsmouth City Council has produced an up to date local transport plan. This is the third local transport plan and will guide development of the transport network in the city until 2031.
Local transport plan 3 replaces the previous LTP which expired on 31 March 2011.
LTP3 is available below in three documents:
The context sets out the current situation in Portsmouth.
LTP3 joint strategy sets out the strategy and policies for future transport development within the city, in line with government policies. This strategy details Portsmouth City Council’s priorities for transport projects, addressing a range of current and future challenges which impact on the transport network and influence people’s travel behaviour and needs.
Working together as a part of Transport for South Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, the strategy and policies within Portsmouth's LTP3 have been developed in partnership with Hampshire County Council, and Southampton City Council, to ensure that transport issues beyond Portsmouth's boundaries, but which directly affect Portsmouth are effectively addressed.
The LTP3 implementation plan outlines how the strategy and policies set out will be put into practice. This implementation plan details proposed schemes for the year 2011/2012.
