Working in the Youth and Play teams, you will lead key programmes of work in relation to young people’s alcohol and substance use. You will work holistically with young people aged from 10-19 years (up to 25 years for young people with learning difficulties and disabilities) in a variety of settings, primarily in youth settings, but also in schools and the local community.

A key focus of this role will be around the development of solid working relationships and will include support to both staff and parents. Work will range from targeted session delivery and 1:1 brief interventions (which will also extend to smoking cessation and emotional wellbeing) with young people experiencing low-level and experimental stages of substance use, to co-ordinating campaigns and events to ensure young people receive information, advice and guidance through both outreach and promotional work. You will contribute to key multi-agency networks to support health improvement and local community development.

If you have exceptional communication skills and enthusiasm and drive for supporting young people to reach positive outcomes then we want to hear from you.
