Hours - 37 hours per week

As part of the Housing Options team you will be dealing with customers both face to face and over the phone answering general housing enquiries and helping to prevent homelessness. 

Managing a large caseload, you'll be assessing housing needs and financial circumstances by interviewing customers and visiting them in their homes so that you can work with them to produce a plan which will help find solutions to their housing issues. 

It is important that you are a good listener and do not rush to conclusions as your assessments will determine eligibility for assistance under Homelessness legislation and priority for Portsmouth City Council's housing allocation scheme.

If you enjoy the challenge in finding innovative solutions and can use your excellent communication skills to build professional relationships with customers and agencies then this may be the role for you.
