Highways PFI Senior Quantity Surveyor

Salary: Band 11 (£38,052 - £41,846 p.a.) plus a Market Supplement Payment to take total remuneration up to £50,000 p.a.

Portsmouth is a bustling island city on the south coast, with a population of approximately 200,000 living within an area of 15.5 square miles. It has strong associations with the Royal Navy and the dockyard which has long shaped the city’s economy and image it is continuing to act as a catalyst to create defence related industries and a naval heritage based tourist industry.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with considerable highways commercial management experience (preferably in a PFI environment) to join us at an exciting time.  The Council and the Department for Transport have committed £0.5bn over a twenty five year period to upgrade, maintain and operate Portsmouth's highway network and this role is responsible for ensuring that the public sector achieves both value for money and a satisfactory performance of the PFI specification from its investment through effective commercial management.

You will preferably be a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, or approaching chartered status, and a natural leader with the ability to manager change and build relationships with delivery partners.
