A group of researchers from the Faculty of Education and Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton are interested in researching the impact of activities to promote good mental and emotional health in in secondary schools.
They would like to find out whether current activities, such as support provided by emotional health and well-being facilitators who work with some schools, improve pupils’ mental and emotional health. The researchers are planning on applying to the National Institute for Health Research for funding to conduct the study, and if successful they would conduct surveys with secondary schools in Portsmouth and Southampton.
Before applying for funding the researchers would like to find out about how mental and emotional health is currently promoted in schools, to ensure the proposal covers the issues most important to schools. Your help in participating in this survey will be gratefully appreciated.
