Portsmouth City Council's team of ten educational psychologists are all registered with the Health Professions Council, each with particular areas of interest or expertise.
Educational psychologists help children and young people up to the age of 19 reach their full potential in the fields of learning, social and emotional development. They work with the young people themselves, with their parents or carers, their teachers and support staff and in partnership with other agencies.
Parents and carers can contact us directly not only about our services, but to find other local sources of support.
Young people can contact us directly. We will listen, and help you find the support or counselling you need. Or we can speak to other people on your behalf.

We can adapt to each school's individual requirements. We offer training on a wide range of topics and issues, some of which is centrally coordinated and some commissioned by individual schools, clusters of schools or other organisations. We also help improve policies and practices around children and young people.
Our valuable working relationships with other Portsmouth professionals, and strong network of contacts are extremely helpful in multi-agency contexts, whether supporting individual children and their families or supporting strategic developments.
